DONATE TO SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD HISTORY CENTER

The Southern Pacific Railroad History Center receives no federal, state, or local funding. All revenue comes from donations, on-line stores, and memberships.

Your donation will help the History Center to provide a comprehensive website, including an online archive containing documents, photos, maps, drawings, and more (Images).  Quick access to the Images will be provided by means of a robust search engine.  After the online archive is operable, its mission will be to educate all who visit the website about the history of the Southern Pacific System with recognition of the accomplishments of all employees, including women, people of color,  and others who contributed to the success of Southern Pacific.  The History Center is a tax deductible 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization and its tax ID is 81-4630341.

If you wish to donate with a credit card or by PayPal, please click on the button below.  If, in the alternative, you prefer to donate by check or money order, please make either payable to the Southern Pacific Railroad History Center, and send to 1475 Purson Lane, Lafayette, CA 94549.

The SP 8007 was the lead locomotive for the CIBAT11, the last Southern Pacific train to depart Los Angeles on September 11, 1996 for the San Francisco Bay Area using the Southern Pacific’s Coast Route. Shown in the picture are engineer Bob McCarthy, on the right, and conductor R. P. Smith on the left. By the time the train arrived in San Luis Obispo, Union Pacific decals were on some doors of the then former Southern Pacific offices. Photo courtesy of Bob McCarthy.
