Russ has been dedicated to the preservation of railroad history for many decades. In 2006, he joined the California State Railroad Museum as a volunteer docent and has worked in several areas of the museum. His primary interests have been volunteering in the restoration shops, helping to keep former Southern Pacific equipment preserved for the enjoyment of the general public.
In 2012, Russ volunteered as a director for the Rocklin Historical Society, where he currently serves as treasurer. The Rocklin Historical Society is a dedicated partner of the Southern Pacific Railroad History Center, and Russ serves as the liaison between both organizations.
Russ holds an MBA from Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College and has been an accounting and finance professional his entire career.
