It’s a bold plan: to house a substantial SP archive with public access; preserve and promote artifacts of Southern Pacific Railroad history; promote awareness of the Railroad’s unique California legacy; and to top it off with a world-class operating scale model of the Southern Pacific, with scenes reaching from here in Rocklin all the way to Odgen, Utah and points beyond!
It’s undeniably ambitious. And necessarily so, we think, because SP was an ambitious, larger-than-life railroad, being part of country’s first Transcontinental Railroad of 1869. We have the talent, the commitment, and the phenomenal human resources and enthusiasm of former SP employees, lifelong SP historians, hard-working SP restoration specialists, and a supportive local community.
Our vision is already in full swing towards realization: please be our guests and peruse the inspiring SPRHC Master Plan to see how we’ll ensure that “SP Lives!”… for generations.
